Vaiko resigns over Lankan issue
MDMK chief Vaiko today quit the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance after he hit out at two BJP leaders for criticising him over his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Sri Lankan issue. “Being in NDA is untenable because of Modi’s policies,” India Today quoted the 70-year-old leader as saying in a statement. “The Modi government has not followed the steps of (former PM Atal Bihari) Vajpayee. There have been differences, so the MDMK has decided not to continue in the BJP-led National Democratic Allaince. Henceforth MDMK quits NDA,” the statement added.
