Norway lauds President’s dedication to the Nation

Norway is satisfied with the success of the Sri Lanka Government’s 100-day programme. Norwegian Ambassador Grete Lochen expressed her satisfaction over this programme during a meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena. The Norwegian Ambassador lauded the initiatives taken by the President for good governance and to further strengthen democracy amidst various obstacles. Gnanasara Thera Challenges Mahinda To Produce ‘Files’ Against BBS

Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera slammed former president Mahinda Rajapaksa for claiming that BBS is a Western-backed conspiracy to alienate the Muslim community against him. Speaking to Asian Mirror, Gnanasara Thera said that the former president must produce evidence to prove his statement. “He said he has many files with details of everyone. He can use those files to prove the allegations against us, if he has any,” Gnanasara Thera said. The BBS General Secretary also claimed that Rajapaksa’s is not entirely his voice but that of the people he deals with these days. He has called the organisation a Western conspiracy that alienated Muslims. We can assume it wasn’t just the Muslims it alienated, but let’s leave that for later. For now, we can take this statement in either of two ways. We can think Rajapaksa is suffering from selective myopia, given that he didn’t make any statement like this while in power.
