Issued by the Bank of England last Tuesday (September 13), it is smaller, stronger and made of polymer, meaning it can apparently survive a trip through the washing machine. Instead of prison reformer Elizabeth Fry, the note’s back features Winston Churchill. But what you may not know is collectors have recognised that since these are the Bank of England’s first ever plastic note, some will be rather unique.
