Leader of the Opposition R Sampanthan says Former Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran’s resignation is not a grave concern for the party. Speaking at a media briefing held in Jaffna, the Leader of the Opposition referred to the former MP as simply another individual. The Opposition leader said he believed that the youth and other parliamentarians within the party will not be influenced by Premachandran’s resignation. Removal of Thondaman’s name India to take up issue with SL

India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, on 15 November, promised to look into the removal of Sri Lankan Tamil leader Savumiamoorthy Thondaman’s name from the name boards of the country’s Government institutions. “Thiru @mkstalin – We will take up this matter with the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL),” tweeted Swaraj in response to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Leader M.K.
