US President Donald Trump has been urged to intervene and ensure justice for Tamils in Sri Lanka. The ‘Tamils for Trump’ organisation, in a letter to President Trump, wished him for the new year and urged him to work for international justice for the Tamil victims either through the ICC or International Tribunal for the war crimes committed by Sri Lankan officials during the ethnic war that killed over 145,000 Tamils.  “No Singhalese has ever been held accountable for any outrage against Tamils since the independence from the British. Justice sought for five youth killed in Trinco 12 years ago

Justice has been sought for five Tamil youth killed in Trincomalee 12 years ago. Amnesty International said in a twitter post that it was pushing for justice for the victims.  The human rights group said that the security forces had been accused of being involved in the killing and the killers have not yet been prosecuted. British tourist found dead with wound to his face in ‘suspicious circumstances’ in Sri Lanka

The 37-year-old man was due to leave the country on New Year’s Day but had extended his visa for three more weeks A British man has been found dead under “suspicious circumstances” in a suburb of Sri Lanka’s capital. The 37-year-old, whose name has not been released, was discovered with a wound to his face this morning. His body was found at a ground in the Araliya Uyana area of Colombo. Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara told local media that the British national arrived in Sri Lanka on November 25 and was due to leave the country on New Year’s Day.
