Official – TNA calls on Tamils to support Fonseka for Presidency
General Fonseka understands the need for an acceptable solution to the Tamil issue far better that President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA), at a press briefing a short while ago, confirmed that the party has reached a unanimous decision to extend support to General Sarath Fonseka at the forthcoming Presidential elections. TNA leader R. Sampanthan said that following talks with Fonseka and incumbent President Mahinda Rajapaksa the party was of the opinion it could not support President Rajapaksa at the polls considering his past performance as a President and called on the Tamil community to support Fonseka for Presidency.
The TNA leader also said that his party, during talks with President Rajapaksa, had impressed upon the need to remove all the high security zones in the north but did not receive a favorable response to that point. He also said there was no “agreement” signed with General Fonseka.
Fonseka presents his programme of work in Jaffna

Mahinda compelled to seek Tamil votes after Sarath entered fray
By Upul Joseph Fernando
Since the Sri Lanka (SL) war began in 1983 , SL’s political agendas have been dictated not according to the wishes of the politicians or the astrological calculations, but by the requirements of Velupillai Prabhakaran in the Wanni jungles. Not only the SL’s politics but even the election of a President of SL was determined by Prabhakaran. The politicians therefore thought that after Prabhakaran’s death in Nandikadal zone , the power of decision making can be resumed by them. They were delighted that in the future , SL politics will be charted not by Wanni but by Colombo.
This notion seems to be a misconception when seen in the backdrop of the queuing of Presidential candidates at the forthcoming Presidential elections ,and politicians at the Jaffna Nallur Kovil , in acts of worship. If the Presidential race is to be won , the Tamil votes are vital……………… http://transcurrents.com/tc/2010/01/mahinda_compelled_to_seek_tami.html
Whenever Tamils boycott polls they end up worse than before
by Dr A.C.Visvalingam
Our Constitution makes it clear that the People are sovereign and that their sovereignty is inalienable. However, for practical reasons, the Constitution provides for the legislative power of the People to be exercised by Parliament, consisting mostly of elected representatives, and, in respect of certain specific situations, directly by the People at a Referendum. Moreover, the executive power of the People, including the defence of Sri Lanka, is exercised by the President, who is separately elected by the People. Except with regard to the privileges, immunities and powers of Parliament and its Members, the judicial power of the People is exercised by Parliament through the courts, tribunals and other institutions created for the purpose.
On the other hand, the People do not delegate to anyone their fundamental rights and the franchise (namely, the right to vote in public elections). It is only these two specific elements of sovereignty which have remained firmly with the People after three successive Constitutions (in 1946, 1972 and 1978)…………. http://transcurrents.com/tc/2010/01/whenever_tamils_boycott_polls.html
Tamil – speaking people are 56% in Colombo but administration is Sinhala alone
by M.I. M. Mohideen
Soon after defeating LTTE terrorism in May 2009, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that there are no minority or majority communities in Sri Lanka today. There are only patriots and traitors, he explained. Muslim Ministers and political leaders supporting his UPFA Government have also said that there is no need for communal political parties and wanted the Muslims to join the National political parties.
Under these circumstances, it has become very pertinent to have a closer look at the plight of the Muslims particularly in Colombo for being patriots and loyal members of the National political parties in Sri Lanka…………………. http://transcurrents.com/tc/2010/01/tamil_speaking_people_are_56_i.html

Do not waste any time on thinking about voting any fancy presidential candidate. The sole purpose of united Tamils should be, first of all, on removing the criminal Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa, who, from the past treatments of Tamils in Sri Lanka, has shown how far he could go against the law and order of International and national codes to inflict pain, suffering and death on the innocent Tamils in the recent war on Tamil community. He deserves to be brought before the International Court of Justice at a time when the UN has openly called for the UN inquiry into Sri Lankan war crimes.
Tamil fronts have to learn one lesson if they have not learnt anything in the reent years. Unite with other Tamil voices in moulding a strong opposition to the animal Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa and unseat him from the post of President. His presidential immunity has to be removed and he himself has to be relegated to an ordinary citizen to face the consequences of his own past actions.
When the head is severed, the body will not function. That is the same of political image one has created.

TNA at last come to a decision – thank God.
Whether we like the alleged War Criminal sarath Fonseka or not, We Tamils must respect the will of TNA.
Having said that, PLEASE, PLEASE, Million times Please, DON’ EVER BE COMPLACENT about the SIGNING of Sarath and TNA because nobody can believe the SINHELLA politician who will betray all after the election. THAT is THE BLOODY BARBARIC HISTORY of SIn-HELLa Polity since 1948 ti date, I very much doubt that that will ever change in future.
SWRD Bandaranayake was killed by a so called BUDDHIST MONK(ey) even after he betrayed the VERY LIMITED AUTONOMY to Tamils in 50s. Sarath Fonseka only will be a president surrounded by all assasins in the name of Army, Police, MONK(ey)s, NAVY, Airforce, etc to kill him if he ever give equal rights to Tamils and Muslims let alone Autonomy.
THERFORE, LETS NOT STOP OUR FIGHT AGAINST THE BARBARIC SIN-HELLA FUNDAMENTALIST TERRORIST SRILANKA WHOSE POLTICIANS WILL PROMISE ALL UNIVERSE TO STEAL VOTES, THEN WILL RESUME CARRYING OUT MASSACRES, MASS GRAVES, RAPES, ETC WITH 100% IMPUNITY IN THE BLOODY ISLAND.
SO, BOYCOTT SRILANKAN ORIGINATED ITEMS AND SERVICES, TO DESTROY THE SRILANKAN ECONOMY TO WIPE OUT THE SIN-HELLA NAZISM FROM THE MINDS OF MAJORITY SINHALESE, UNTIL WE ACHIEVE OUR GOAL.
NO TURNING BACK, NO BLOOD FOR PANTIES.
BARBARIANS WHO HAVE SEX WITH DEAD BODIES.
