Five charges under the Army Act and will face a Court Martial

General Sarath Fonseka will be tried on over five charges under the Army Act and will face a court martial within the next few days, the Army Spokesperson said. According to the military, the summary of evidence over charges against General Fonseka, made in compliance with provisions of the Army Act was completed and handed over to Army Commander over the weekend.

Tamilnadu Journalist and Devotees who had visited the Kachchatheevu to partake the annual St.Anthony’s Church festival recently had informed that they were able to witness many products from China. They pointed out that this would be a massive threat to India. The Indian Journalists informed that massive amount of items manufactured from China were available at kachchatheevu,and when they attempted to photograph them, they were obstructed by the Sri Lankan navy personnel.     One cannot see any difference between the Indo Srilankan Propaganda against Tamil liberation struggle by dividing LTTE and Tamils.
    Indian trained militant groups- EPDP, EPRLF, PLOTE, TELO, etc- have been killing Tamils while LTTE target only SINHELLa Military and Police without harming even Sinhalese people- Almost all Sinhala victims were killed by either Srilankan Military and Police or Srilankan and Indian aided Paramilitaries in order to blame the Tigers as terrorists, NO WONDER THE SRILANKA REFUSE and SABOTAGE ANY INVESTIGATION of ANY KILLING of CIVILIAN to save their Terrorist Military and Paramilitaries.

    The militancy idea, translated by LTTE into action, not only failed but also has exposed the whole Tamil civilians to a stateless condition in Sri Lanka today. Those who have witnessed the genocide of innocent Tamils in 2009 will NEVER float this idea again. Once is more than enough to say NEVER AGAIN. Even if those voicing their indirect militant support will experience the same result by exposing the Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka again to another genocide or exodus of Tamils from Sri Lanka.

    It is easy to entertain the militant idea against majority Singhalese community. It was thought that India would hurry to support the Tamils by extending deterrence against Sri Lanka on its war on LTTE and Tamils civilians. The reality was to the opposite: Decimation of LTTE, displacement of innocent Tamils, the present stateless condition of Tamils, etc.

    Tamil politicians in Sri Lanka have to field in their efforts in wielding a joint democratic voice for the reinstatement of basic human rights of Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka. Tamils or their political representatives ARE NOT IN A STRONG POSITION to make any deal of their own with the Singhalese government today. When you position is weak, you have to learn to refrain from exposing the innocent Tamils to further genocide. This is the old wisdom of surviving. This is the gist of my writings.

    Today the art of communication has refined to such as a level as to incorporate the powerful human values into the issues troubling a society. That communication is RECONCILIATION with your enemy.

    I do not write any articles to any Singhalese web sites nor am interested in pretending to write any anti Tamil articles to any news media. That is not the purpose in my articles.

    If accusation does not level to the commission of an act, it clearly shows a mind still growing, but not fully grown, through experimenting with its own fancy ideas.

    Everybody has the right to air his or her ideas. I do not expect anybody to concur with expression of my ideas nor do I agree with anybody if I see the other side of the argument more tenable and more meaningful.

    Your writings clearly show the readers how you poorly conduct yourself with informing yourself of the poly-sided argument of an idea that defies solution on a grand scale. Democracy is a basic right of each and every human being to disagree with others. A thing has more than one life just as an idea has more than one face.

    Whether my writings appeal to a fragment of Tamil Diaspora or not is not the issue here. The issue is the continued search for a lasting solution to the artificial problems the Tamil community in Sri Lanka face today.

    All the major achievements in life hide a simple fact. If you find it, you can win the whole world.

    We have to carefully separate two issues here. One is rhe general good of the Tamils in Sri Lanka, and the other is the part played by the Tamil militancy group whatever it is. The militancy group is or was not the Tamil community itself, nor the Tamil community is the essence of the militant group. The two are two poles of the called Injustice and discrimination.

    The militant group adopted violence as the tool of achieving the condition for the independent homeland for the Sri Lankan Tamils. But It not only failed, but also decimated the militant group and displaced the Tamils as homeless refugees in their homeland.

    When a certain tool failed to produce the results expected of a system, there are at the disposal of the Tamil community other tools. The one still to be tried is the tool of reconciliation. Reconciliation is not surrender, but a survival mechanism. Certain Tamil Diaspora members, imbedded in the idea of militancy, feel left out and very much hurt by the defeat and decimation of the militant group. Instead of wallowing in the idea of militancy of one sort or another, they have to mount pressure on foreign governments to get involved in the peace process to install peace and harmony as the prerequisite for a meaningful dialogue between the dissenting parties in Sri Lanka.

    History is a muddle of dirty water. Not a single person of worth will ever waste his or her time digging deeper and deeper into the stinking mud. Leave aside Hindu or Saiva religious recantations. They will not solve the problems at hand now.

    Reconciliation and mobility of global voice of democratic governments in power today are the two powerful tools the Tamil Diaspora has to use to bring the rebellious Sri Lankan government to the bargain table.

    Some interesting developments are to impact on the global approach to Sri Lankan Tamil issue. The UN is under pressure from all fronts to proceed with an official inquiry into the crimes Sri Lankan government and Tamil militant group have committed. Another is the strong Chinese presence in Sri Lanka which poses a grave danger to Indian security in the Indian Ocean. India is not going to be an idle duck any more. It is time India woke up from the Sri Lankan sedation and asserted its regional presence. The woes and grievances of the Sri Lankan Tamils are the powerful tools for India to implement corrective measures to ward off Chinese threat to Indian security. Once adopted, this measure will win back the hearts of Tamil Nadu of India.

    It is only through a political dialogue that both the dissenting parties could find a solution to the grievances experienced by the minority Tamils. First and foremost, an amicable climate for building trust to approach the other party has to be realized. It is only the trust that has the power of dissolving the knots of tension still either dominant or recessive in the relationship with the other party.

    Reconciliation with the oppressive force is NOT SURRENDER itself. It is a survival mechanism.

    Again I want to make this point clear. Who has the human nature to approach the other dissenting party to build the trust for the political dialogue? Come forward and do something to change the situation.

    I do not write nice theories here as Siva has mentioned in his post. I have already posted an article welcoming the chauvinistic writings by Roshan. Read Siva to inform yourself of the facts that will help you understand your views.

    Unknown to your consciousness, you have done a great service to Tamil Diaspora. Your chauvinistic remarks against the Tamil community in your writings have clearly shown the world who you are and what your hidden motives are. As you know there is not any chance whatsoever for you with your efforts for personal enrichment, either politically or on a gratified level. The Sri Lankan regime does not care either about you or your cry for splitting the community further.
    The great service you have done to the Tamil Diaspora is that it has brought together otherwise dissenting Tamils on major issues. What else could they have done without your chauvinistic writings? You are a wonderful friend of Tamils. Even in enmity there is a touch of hidden friendship. You have proved your worth without knowing it.
    Throw mud again and again on the face of Tamils living both in Sri Lanka and abroad. The mud will not defame them, but, instead, decorate them with garlands of compassion and understanding by the global world citizens.
    Keep doing it. You help us the Tamil Diaspora to make us drive the nail deeper and deeper into the law of consciousness of democratic leaders in power today for change in policy towards Sri Lanka.

    How can one reconcile with Sinhala racists who are >99% in Sinhala race whose ideology is that THE WHOLE ISLAND BELONG TO SINHALESE only and all Srilankan institutions are Sinhala racists and no sane person can see anything to compromise with them at all.
    The Sinhala race(majority except a few UNKNOWN) believe in the Mahavmsa and even justifying the GENOCIDE and CONCENTRATION CAMPS of Tamils in the name of their religion(please don’t insult the GREAT BUDDHISM by calling them as Buddhists).

    For the sixty years we tamil “fought” non-violence and arm struggle. But never tried reconciliation. That is the only option we have now to save tamils in Sri Lanka (not diaspora).

    We wasted 30 years behind a fool (VP) and who destroyed many and our independant and critical thinking. It’s time for us get out.

    I noted your comments with interest.

    We should never treat the Singhalese community all alike in the same basket of isolation. It is only a selected group of radicalized minds that create ripples of dissent, dissension, and disharmony in the society. These elements know that their tactics have their own limits in artificial projection of violence.

    Problems in a society are signposts, but they are not blockades on the path to a just and balanced social life. Violence is definitely not the answer to problems either in a personal or social life. Anything achieved by means of violence loses its glamour and endurance and the results fade away as soon as they have surfaced in a society. It does not create the climate for the support of the existence of its integrity.

    Tamil community, with a history spanning through many four or five digits figure life, are not fighters, but they have been successful survivors, even under extremely harsh adverse life conditions. That is the secret of Tamil ethnicity.

    Definitely the situation in Sri Lanka today is going to change with the change of foreign policy India has adopted until now. With Chinese gaining an upper hand in influencing Sri Lankan politics towards outside world and internal power equilibrium at home, a super power like India is not going to restrict itself to the fancy ideas of Sri Lanka any more. With Chinese strong presence in Sri Lanka, India does not feel good at home concerning Indian security. India might change its course in foreign policy overnight and it will force Sri Lanka to compromise certain issues paving the way for devolution of power to indigenous Tamils at regional levels.

    Solutions to problems are always within the problems themselves.

    If an aggressor has unleashed a social turmoil, it is only through the same aggressor a solution could easily be found to resolve the problem. Tamil Diaspora should keep playing the ball in the turf, creating the motion waves all over the world to awaken the democratic leaders in power today. Even a change of policy at the UN quarters is going to emerge soon.

    What we the Tamils have witnessed so far is only a curtain. The curtain is not the show itself. When the curtain is raised, the whole world will see the real show. This is the way Truth asserts its integrity.

    Tamil Diaspora should focus on improving communication channels so that any hot spot news in Sri Lanka is brought to the attention of world citizens immediately. It is only through self-awareness that a mobility of collective consciousness is raised to create the energy to assert the basic rights to be encoded into a policy of corrective measures to realize the aspiration of the Tamil community.

    Some radicalized Singhalese churn out chauvinistic writings. They are definitely NOT the voice of peace-loving Singhalese community. We should never fall a victim to the tactical manipulation of the radical elements, both Singhalese and Tamils. Their main purpose is to exploit every single opportunity for a personal enrichment. We should guard ourselves against playing into their tricks to reflect their radical response to their acts of volatality.

    If Satan knows that we know the Satan’s dance, its effect on us will sizzle out leaving us unharmed.

    It is not the man who rules the world, but his or her idea. A good formulated idea survives the adversity of all time.

      Mr Karuppen, I am sure most of the Tamils agree with your comments about unity in diversity, but I’m afraid it is impossible to re-educate the Sinhala community and release their mind from the myth of Mahawamsa. They are brain washed from very young age. Sinhalese were taught that Mahawamsa says “10 Tamils lives not equvalent of one Sinhala life”. Tamils tried their maximum to live together with Sinhalese faught in non-violence then armed struggle for a political solution. Tamils wanted to be treated equaly and enjoy rights same as Sinhalese enjoy. Time will give us answer and solutions for our struggle!

    Chinese presence in both Kachchatheevu and Paalaitheevu does not portend well for Indian security in the Indian Ocean. The failure of a balanced foreign policy on the part of India in supporting ethnic minority’s basic human rights to live as humans in Sri Lanka has unravelled this incident. It is not only a singular evolution of political uneasiness, but there are already signs of suspected Chinese military installations in Sri Lanka targeted at the Indian security as well.

    Is it going to be a tug-of-war between India and China in shooting at the satellites now cruising freely in the sky? One way or another it is going to disturb the balance of power between the two countries.

    The myopic evaluation of policy makers in Indian foreign policy has invited this situation, which otherwise could have been avoided by strengthening India’s position in world political arena by being tough with the present Sri Lankan run-astray regime to implement a policy of devolution of power to the Sri Lankan Tamils at the regional levels. It is still not late to invoke corrective measures.

    What you deny others will slip through your own fingers. This is a good example.
