UPFA backs solution under 13th Amendment?

The United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) says it supports a political solution to address the National issue, under the 13th Amendment to the constitution.

UPFA member and candidate at the Parliamentary election, Dr. Charitha Herath, said that the UPFA proposes a unitary Sri Lanka with powers shared with the provinces under the 13th Amendment which were refused under the rule of Mahinda. Mahinda promised the world leaders that he will implement more than the current 13th amendment if he is allowed to kill the LTTE and more than 40,000 Tamil civilians in May 2009 and the US and Europe turned away and let Rajapakshas Army kill more than 40,000 Tamil Civilians in May 2009. The army also killed more than 1000 LTTE Leaders and their family members who surrenders with White Flag after UN negotiated the surrender.

MAHINDA LIAR 2In June 2009 Rajapaksha refused to implement the 13+ amendment he promised and took cover behind China and anti American countries to support him on War Crimes committed by him and his Army. The US and European countries demanded the implementation of the promised 13+ amendment political package promised but true to his normal attitude of not keeping to his words Mahinda refused even to implement the current constitution of the country which protects minority in a small way.

“We do not believe in strengthening only parts of the country (for example like the “megapolis” proposed by the UNP). All parts of the country must see the benefits of development,” he said.

He also said that majority support is needed to address the interests of the minorities and only a leader who gets that support will be able to address such issues.

“Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is still the leader who has the support of the majority, and he is the one who has shown the most commitment towards addressing issues of the minority,” Herath said. But in contrast to his false statement Mahinda Rajapaksha had used racist moves to gain the Sinhala support and had encouraged the riots on Muslims by Buddhist monks during his rule. Mahinda lost all the support he had among the minorities. Only few like Karuna, Dougles and pillaiyan who have no support among the minorities are with him..
