Noting recent rights groups reports that Tamils continue to face torture and gang rapes a year after President Maithripala Sirisena came to power in Sri Lanka promising reform, Professor Boyle, an expert in international law, who teaches at the University of Illinois College of Law, said that it is obvious that the “Sinhala Genocide against the Eelam Tamils continues apace under Sirisena,” and that the GoSL, the U.S. Government and the UNHRC “perpetrated..a fraud upon the Eelam Tamils by calling for the establishment of nothing more than a so-called “domestic mechanism” by the GOSL Genocidaires that will give them the legal cover and fig-leaf to continue their campaign of outright genocide against the Eelam Tamils.”
Full text of the comment Prof. Boyle sent to TamilNet follows:
“I have not yet had the time to read this Report itself that just came out. But it is obvious from this Synopsis that the Sinhala Genocide against the Eelam Tamils continues apace under Sirisena.
“The World should have expected nothing else from the Genocidaire Sirisena.
“It is also obvious that the GOSL, the United States government and the UN Human Rights Council perpetrated a sick joke and a demented fraud upon the Eelam Tamils by calling for the establishment of nothing more than a so-called “domestic mechanism” by the GOSL Genocidaires that will give them the legal cover and fig-leaf to continue their campaign of outright genocide against the Eelam Tamils.
“Any international expert that gets involved in this so-called “domestic mechanism” will thereby become an accomplice to the GOSL genocide against the Eelam Tamils in violation of Genocide Convention Article III (e) that criminalizes: “Complicity in genocide.” All Tamils around the world should note their names. He who pays the piper calls the tune,” Boyle commented.
South Africa-based group The International Truth and Justice Project (ITJP) UK-based group Freedom From Torture (FFT) said this week that Tamils have undergone arbitrary detention, torture, and gang rape by Sri Lanka military.
The ITJP said a “well-organised machine” continued to torture and repress Tamils and it was not merely a case of a few “rotten apples.”
Further, recent reports from Jaffna, alleged complicity of Colombo in destroying evidence and the remaining traces of a newly discovered makeshift torture chamber inside the recently released lands in Valikaamam North in Jaffna at a locality known as Pazhai-Veemankaamam.
Tamil journalists had filmed the locality earlier this week. After the video evidence was published, the Sri Lanka Defence Ministry in Colombo instructed its military at Palaali to remove the traces of the torture chamber, according to an earlier report filed in TamilNet.
