Investigations into the e-mails sent from the Carlton Sports Network (CSN) have revealed clear links between the television station and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa, Minister of Law and Order Sagala Ratnayake said today.
He said that the emails revealed that Yoshitha Rajapaksa operated as the chairman of the company and was the main decision maker.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa was arrested recently over his links to CSN which is being investigated for money laundering.
The Minister also said that the police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) had investigated the allegations on CSN based on a complaint filed with the FCID.
Ratnayake said that CSN was investigated under existing laws like any other police investigation will be carried out.
He said that there was a need to remand the suspects arrested in connection to the case in order to assist the investigations. (Colombo Gazette)
