Member of Parliament for the Hambantota District Namal Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa have been summoned to the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry……(PRECIFAC) to answer allegations relating to the misuse of aircraft belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force.
PRECIFAC is also expected to question Gotabaya Rajapaksa about why two soldiers had been deployed to protect the house of former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa in America. A spokesman for PRECIFAC (Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power) told Ceylon Today that the former Defence Secretary has been asked by PRECIFAC to present himself before the Commission on the 9th of this month.
This spokesman said further that Namal Rajapaksa has been asked as well to appear before the Commission on the 10th to be questioned in connection with the above mentioned charges.
PRECIFAC earlier summoned the former Defence Secretary to the Commission on 18 April for a statement in connection with the investigation being carried out by the Commission into these allegations.
However, he did not appear and had asked PRECIFAC for an alternate appointment through his lawyers.
