I am sure you are aware of the appeal below to help Mr Paradan to undergo a kidney transplant. I am delighted to inform you that the boy had underwent kidney transplant in Colombo on 13 Dec 2016 and now residing in a rented house in Colombo in order to attend follow ups. He is recovering well and will be going to Vavuniya after a month. I attach a couple of photos: one was taken in the hospital; other after he was discharged.
Diaspora from the UK, Singapore and Malaysia (FOMSO) as well as kind hearted people in Sri Lanka donated generously and saved Mr Paradan’s life. On behalf of Mr Paradan and Assist RR, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who made donations (please see table below) and made this happen .
I attach the bills and provide the breakdown of the costs and the donations received. As you can see, we couldn’t raise the full amount needed for the surgery. Assist RR (SL) and Engineer Sriskandarajah have provided loans to settle the hospital bill. It is anticipated that Mr Paradan may receive some contribution from the President’s fund. In this case, the loans will be repaid using this contribution. If not, Assist RR will raise the necessary funds to settle the two loans.
|Cost of Kidney Transplant|
|Assist RR (UK)||618,500.00|
|Donors from Sri Lanka||125,000.00|
|Loan from Assist RR (SL)||157,203.00|
|Loan from Engineer N Sriskandarajah, Vavuniya||115,000.00|
|Raised by Seeds Institution, Vavuniya||381,000.00|
I would like thank again for your kind support.

Subject: Re: A boy desperately need assistance towards a kidney transplant – Can we help?
Ganeshamoorthy Parathan aged 20 from Ganeshapuram, Vavuniya, has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and has reached End stage renal failure. His only hope of survival is renal transplant therapy. His parents have found a match for a kidney donation from a man who lost both of his legs during the war. However, they require financial assistance to carry out the transplant in Colombo. Could you please kindly consider this appeal and contribute so that this young man can survive from his decease? Mr Parathan’s family lives below the poverty line and have no chances of funding the treatment themselves. If he doesn’t receive the transplant, he has no hope of survival. If we can contribute even a little, this young man can be helped.
Assist RR was approached by kind hearted individuals from UK seeking assistance to raise funds to help this boy. Several documents related to his medical condition were given to us and are attached to this email. His condition has been independently verified by Assist RR (Sri Lanka) and we can confirm that he needs our help for his survival. Assist RR has therefore agreed to support this effort and has set up a fund raising page, which is given below. Please consider helping him and share this with your friends and family as well.
