President Mahinda Rajapaksa does not know how to govern a land without a war and is attempting to make his dream of a third term in office, a reality by starting a racist commotion, UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera has told a weekend newspaper.
“President Mahinda Rajapaksa does not know how to govern a land without a war or commotion. He ended a war… yes. But looking back at the five years since the end of war, what can be seen? Even if the war against terrorism is over, women are still in battle… In a battle to live… Theft, thuggery… All that is running rampant,” he has said.
He, who dreams of becoming President for the third time, thinks he can only make it happen by ignating a racist commotion in the country and then appearing as the savious of the Sinhalese-Buddhist masses. That is what they are gearing up for,” he has added.
“I am charged of bertraying the intelligence unit. I wish to make one thing clear. None of these names I mentioned were secrets. All three of these names are in the official telephone directory as well. It is no secret.”
MP Samaraweera further added that he did not reveal information of the intelligence units, who in return are engaged in things that are not their duty.
