GOTHA ready to renounce US citizenship ONLY if invited to run for Sri Lankan President

Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday said that ONLY if he was nominated to contest the next presidential election, he would renounce his US citizenship and he would be able to do so within two months. If not, than he will stay as a US citizen. A journalist asked if he was after the super power like Mahinda rule before 2015 or was he really interested in helping to develop Sri Lanka?

Mahinda who wants his son MP Nimal to be nominated has the next president candidate was unreachable for comments. It is a known secret that most deniers were not happy about a Rajapakshe family member being nominated for the presidential candidate,  due to the experience of Mahinda rule where they were used as nonexistence.

Rajapaksa was addressing the media after making a statement to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID). He said he had not been invited by the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to contest the election.

Gotabhaya was summoned by the FCID for alleged misuse of state funds to construct the D.A. Rajapaksa museum at Medamulana.  Reportedly, he has been summoned to give a statement regarding the investigations on the construction of the D. A. Rajapaksa Memorial Museum. Reportedly, the FCID has questioned the former Defense Secretary for more than two hours.

Asked to comment on the controversy over Asgiriya Anunayake Ven. Vendaruwe Upali Thera’s referece to Gotha to become a Hitler and bring a military rule in Sri Lanka at an alms giving at his house, the former Defence Secretary said he had understood what the prelate meant, but there were certain elements who had not been able to do so and they were making false claims to discredit the prelate.
