“I’m here as I’m a Sri Lankan and I’m proud to be a Sri Lankan. I do not believe that separatism or partition is the answer for problems of the society. I’m convinced that the unity of all Sri Lankan people can free the country and the people from exploitation and preserve our sovereignty and independence. People joined together will be able to combat all exploitation,” said Ms Tamara Kunanayakam, former Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Office and Sri Lanka’s former envoy to Cuba.
Addressing the rally held by the Socialist Youth Union (SYU) at Viharamahadevi Open air theatre on the 27th Ms. Kunanayakam said, “We should struggle against all types of separatism. We should amass all patriotic forces. We should not think as Sinhalese, Tamil or Muslims but as Sri Lankans. Struggles against communalism and religious extremism should be carried out in work places, villages, society and everywhere.”
Ms Tamara Kunanayakam, former Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Office and Sri Lanka’s former envoy to Cuba did not talk on the 13+ promised political package by the President Mahinda in April 2009 to the UN Leaders which had NOT been implemented to date. This was a political package promised to give some rights to the Minority Tamil community which had being discriminated for the last 60 years by the Colombo government.
She if after the UN post or at least a diplomatic post and if she exposes the false promises made by the President to the UN Leaders she will never get any of the posts she is after so she hides the fales promises made by President Mahinda or the killing of more than 40,000 of Tamil Civilians in month of May 2009 by the Sri Lankan army. Also it is firmly believed that she is aware of the killing of more than 1000 LTTE Leaders who surrendered with white flag after UN officers negotiated the surrender.
