DMK chief M Karunanidhi and MDMK leader Vaiko have demanded the Centre not to send an Indian delegation to the meet to be held from August 18 to 20. A petition has also been filed in the high court seeking Centre not to send the delegation. Tamil Nadu political parties are voicing opposition to India sending a military delegation to participate in the conference, Anti Tamil Swamy who supported the killing of more than 40,000 Tamil Civilians by the Sri Lankan forces in Month of May 2009 is of the view that trade between India and Sri Lankla is more important than the lives of the Sri Lankan Tamils.

“I would definitely participate in the conference,” he told reporters in Madurai on Saturday on the sidelines of a conference on “National Waterways,” organized by Bharatiya Kisan Sangh. “The Sri Lankan commander-in-chief invited me to participate in the conference. Many military officers are also scheduled to participate,” Swamy said. “Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa participated in the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi. Likewise, I am participating in an international conference organized in Sri Lanka,” he said.

On the controversy over derogatory reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister J Jayalallithaa on a Sri Lanka’s official Defence department website, Swamy said that it was wrong to blame the Sri Lankan government for the objectionable content. It was an defence employee who posted the report on the Defence Website and it was wrong to assume that the Lankan government was behind it, he said.

Pakistan training terrorist in Sri Lanka

Swamy as usual to protect his friend President Mahinda, sought to play down the controversy and said that Indo-Sri Lankan ties should be maintained at a cordial level to prevent Pakistan and China gaining an upper hand in the island nation. A sound Indo-Lanka relationship was all the more important in the wake of information that Pakistan was trying to recruit Sri Lankan Muslims for extremist activities, he said.

The Sri Lankan government is accused of helping Pakistan to train Sri Lankan Muslims to attack India. Some Pakistan terrorist who tried to attack the airport in Tamil Nadu had informed the police that they were paid and helped by the Pakistan High commission in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan helped the Sri Lanka in large scale to kill thousands of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
