‘Gentleman of Sri Lankan Politicians’ becomes the PM.

PM Ranil WickramasingheRt Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was sworn in as Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister yesterday (09) for a third time, last held that position 11 years ago, in 2004.

While he had been on a visit to the US, the then president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga as the president of the country dissolved the Wickremesinghe government as per the constitution power she had as the than President, took over several ministries and Wickremesinghe lost his position as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

As UNPers were preparing to take to the streets in order for the reinstatement of Wickremesinghe a known ‘Gentleman of Sri Lankan Politicians’ who puts the country before his personnal interest to become the countries leader, he returned from the US and told them  NOT to create problem to the country and that that he would discuss the matter with her and form a government again and become the premier again.

He was under pressure from UNP party members to stand has the Presidential candidate against Mahinda, but he gave his position to Maitiri who was in the opposite side in the interest of the country and proved him self as a ‘Gentleman of Sri Lankan Politicians’.

It became a reality 11 years later, after he discussed matters with her. Kumaratunga was able to rectify a big political mistake by restoring the premiership to Wickremesinghe.

It is hoped that he will guide the government to give equal rights to all citizens of Sri Lanka and will implement the countries constitution in full.
