Four Northern Provincial Council Ministers yesterday sought to intervene in the fundamental rights violation application filed by the Provincial Secretary to the Northern Province, Mrs. Vijayalakshi Ramesh, citing as the first respondent, Chief Minister of the Province, C. V. Wigneswaran

Mrs. Ramesh has complained to the Supreme Court that the Chief Minister has no power to interfere in her official activities, as she is appointed by the President, the Head of State. Counsel for Mrs. Ramesh, Gomin Dayasiri, maintained the same stand and objected to the attempt by the Provincial Ministers to intervene.
