Former Union Cabinet Minister and chairman of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Committee for Strategic Action Subramanian Swamy who is known for being a strong anti Tamil and a close associate of President Mahinda is scheduled to meet Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa during a visit to Sri Lanka this week, The Hindu newspaper reported.
Swamy well known to make idiotic remarks has been a strong supporter of killing of more than 40,000 Tamil Civilians by the Sri Lankan forces, and a regular visitor to the island suspected of being on paid holidays by the Sri Lankan government for supporting the killing of Tamils. Last September, he called on President Rajapaksa and discussed a range of issues, including the political climate in Sri Lanka and the fishermen conflict as usual nothing was implemented by the Sri Lankan president known for making false promises.
He will deliver a talk on ‘India under Modi: relevance for the region and the world’ in Colombo today (Monday). As part of a discussion organised by the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies, Dr. Swamy will be on a panel that includes Seshadri Chari, national convener of the BJP’s foreign policy cell, Suresh Prabhu, former union minister, Swapan Dasgupta, journalist and political commentator, and Madhavan Nalapat, professor of geopolitics, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
