The Chief Prelates in Kandy today urged the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) not to have any differences with Ministers and to resolve their issues through dialogue.
BBS General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara thero said that the request was made when the BBS met the Chief Prelates today.
The BBS had met the prelates to brief them on a major conference organized by the BBS, scheduled to take place next month.
Gnanasara thero said that the conference will look to draw attention towards alleged threats faced by Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
He said that when the Chief Prelates raised the issue involving verbal feuds between the monks and some Government Ministers, the Chief Prelates were told that it was nothing personal.
Gnanasara thero insisted that the BBS has no personal agenda against anyone and does not act with vengeance but merely looks to defend Buddhism.
The BBS has in recent times had verbal feuds with Ministers Rishad Bathiudeen and Rajitha Senaratne. (Colombo Gazette)
