By Cyril WimalasurendreKANDY: General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera said in Kandy on Friday that Minister Rajitha Senaratne was free to sue him for defamation but he would not pay even five cents.
Ven. Ganasara Thera said so in answer to a question posed by a journalist at the Malwatte Vihara which he visited to meet Maha Nayake Thera Most Venerable Tibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala.
The Thera said he had evidence to back what he had said about the minister. He said the minister holding the Buddha Sasana portfolio should be a strong and active person. “The minister must be an efficient and active person capable of working twenty fours of the day, Ven. Gnanasara Thera added.
Ven. Gnanasara was accompanied by several monks of the organisation. His one-hour meeting with the Maha Nayake Thera was not open to the media.
Subsequently, Ven. Gnanasara Thera said he had discussed with the prelate certain important issues pertaining to the Sasana and the Sinhala people.
He presented to the Mahanayake Thera a report containing the findings of a research conducted by the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) on the Sinhalese and Buddha Sasana
