Jaffna District Parliamentarian, Vijayakala Maheswaran, has urged the government to lift the travel restrictions imposed on expatriate Tamils, when travelling to Jaffna.

Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, referring to the European Union’s (EU) decision to ban imports of fisheries products from Sri Lanka, said Sri Lanka was being unfairly targeted by the EU to achieve its own political and economic agendas. He claimed the ban could have been avoided if the Sri Lankan Mission in Brussels had not forgotten to pass on a simple message to his ministry.
