His comment comes after President Mahinda Rajapaksa had said recently that he has files on those who left the Government, but will not make them public.
Ranawaka accused the Finance Ministry of stealing from the public through the price of petrol.
He said that taxes on fuel and electricity is being used to pay for the construction and maintenance of the new highways.
The former Minister said that three-wheel drivers and motorbike riders should surround the Finance Ministry for stealing from their purse.
“It is the three-wheel driver and motorbike rider who pay for the highway through the cost of fuel but they cannot use the highway,” he said.
Ranawaka said that when he began to make some revelations on the Government an allegation was made against him over a coal deal but later the Government withdrew the allegation.
“No one needs to release files we will put them out. We cannot let these people who make mega deals get away,” he said.
He said the people voted for the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and President Mahinda Rajapaksa, not to hold the people to ransom.(Colombo Gazette)
