TNA MP refutes crossover rumors

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Jaffna District Parliamentarian E. Saravanapavan yesterday (December 6) strongly refuted reports that he would be supporting President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the upcoming presidential election. Speaking to The Nation, Saravanapavan, who is also the Managing Director of the Jaffna-based Uthayan Tamil newspaper, described reports of him supporting President Rajapaksa as ‘completely baseless’ and an attempt to create a ‘wrong picture’ in the minds of the people. The United States has denied allegations raised by a Government Minister who had said that former US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Michele J. Sison had offered him a bribe.
