The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) warned that the there were plans underway by the government, to sell areas of strategic importance to national security in the North and East, to a pro-Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam Tamil Diaspora group for US$ 450 million. General Secretary of the BBS Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera said that the government,
especially United National Party (UNP) Leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister Mangala Samaraweera, the Tamil Diaspora and former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, had already decided to go ahead with the deal for the establishment of a fast food chain before 20 December, this year. The country is presently being governed by the Tigers, the Research and Analysis Wing, the Central Intelligence Agency and Mossad, he added.
The military are running restaurants and hotels and providing accommodation, yet the government is incensing the people in the areas against the military in their efforts to get rid of the armed forces and soon they will state that the military has no money to run the said hospitality operations, he mentioned.
“Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is still taking the previous route. Muslims did not show Rajapaksa gratitude. The situation in the North is tragic. The Army is relegated to the camps. Over 40,000 Maldivians are in the country unmonitored. There is no visa policy,” the Thera observed.
