Minister Harrison says Mahinda committing political suicide

Minister Harrison, addressing a press conference at the Ashok Hotel in Anuradhapura, yesterday (05) said that the former president was in that predicament because of the corrupt politicos around him. “These elements entered politics without a cent in their pockets. Three SLFP ministers to contest from UNP

mahinda groupLands Minister M.K.D.S. Gunawardena,Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga and Cultural Affairs Minister Nandimithra Ekanayake are considering contesting the forthcoming general elections from the United National Party, according political sources.

It is also reported that they had held discussions with former president Chandrika Kumaratunga about their future political arrangements. They have decided not to contest as SLFPers, if Mahinda Rajapaksa contests as a UPFAnominee, as they had supported Maithripala Sirisena at the last presidential election.
