Fielding a question on the upcoming Geneva UNHRC session and the war crimes report on Sri Lanka, Mahinda’s stunt man Wimal Weerawansa had said that two Politicians and 40 Military men will be charged for War Crime.
‘Two Political leaders and over 40 Military officers involved in the Killing of more than 40,000 Tamil Civilians and killing of more than 1000 LTTE Leaders and their family members who surrendered with White Flag after UN negotiated the surrender in May 2009 would face ‘War Crimes charges’ says Wimal. This is according to Erik Solheim, who had spoken to the media hinted Wimal.
Stunt Man Weerawansa was speaking a UPFA press conference attended by the coalition’s Prime Ministerial Candidate and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Weerawansa said the only way to protect the two Sinhala political leaders and the 40 Sinhala military officers who were involved in (killing and raping of Tamil girls) War Crimes, was to elect the UPFA to power on August 17. If Mahinda is elected he will not punish the killers of the 40,000 Tamil Civilians or the killing of more than 1000 LTTE Leaders and their family members who surrendered with White Flag after UN negotiated the surrender in May 2009
“If the UNP forms a government with the help of the TNA it would have to grant the wish of the latter which has called for an international war crimes probe.” He sounded that there will be Hung Parliament and TNA will be the decision maker of the ruler for next five years.
He accused the government of preparing the grounds for those who killed the Tamil Civilians in thousands, to be hauled up before a war crimes tribunal for killing the Tamil Civilians. “This has been part of their strategy and the people must ensure the safety of these two Sinhala leaders who fought for us to elect the UPFA.”
The UNHRC has put the release of its war crimes report on Sri Lanka in view of the Jan. 08 regime change here in view of the present administration’s commitment to a domestic inquiry. The report is expected to be released next month and it will expose Killing and raping of Tamil civilians under the Gotha’s and Mahinda’s leadership.
