TNA will support next Govt

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Leader R. Sampanthan says that the Alliance will support the government that will be elected depending on what solutions it provides for the North-East crisis.
Sampanthan said yesterday in Vavuniya that the TNA had decided to support the … government that will be elected based on the actions taken by it to solve the North-East problem and that, if a solution is to be found, the government that will be established should negotiate such issues with every party and reach a decision based on a common consensus.
The former Parliamentarian made these comments while addressing a meeting at the Kalaimagal Sports Grounds in Vavuniya in support of the team of candidates from the TNA standing for election to seats in the Vanni through the general election of 17 August.
He also said that it was a disgrace to the Tamil people that all political parties had included in their election manifestos that the Constitution will be changed and a solution will be found for the North-East crisis and that they were shouting about it on political platforms.
Sampanthan said that solving the North-East problem should not be transformed into an election promise. He also reiterated that any government which is elected is obligated to solve the North East problem.
The leader of the TNA said that Mahinda Rajapaksa suffered an extreme defeat at the Presidential Election because he deceived the Tamil people and did not take them into consideration at all.
A large crowd including former Members of Parliament of the TNA Mavai Senathiraja, Selvam Adaikkalanadan, Suresh Premachandran, Shivashakthi Anandan and other TNA members were present on this occasion.
