Events held in North to remember war dead

Jaffna university students remembers martyrs

Jaffna University students today commemorated martyrs at the university compound this afternoon.
At 12.00 pm students lighted lamps infront of the photographs of martyrs.

University students and teachers took part in this event.

Large number of intelligence unit officials was present at the site.

Without considering the intelligence unit members threatening students took part in the commemoration event.

Several events were held in the North today to remember the Tamils killed during the 30 year war, particularly during the final battle.

Northern Provincial Council member M.K. Sivajilingham took part in religious observances outside the Nallur Kandaswamy Temple in Jaffna this morning in remembrance of those killed during the war.

At the time several intelligence unit members were also present at the site.

Speaking to media M.K.Sivajilingam went on to say, no one is permitted to stop us on remembering our martyrs.

Their dream will come true on one day.
