Australian government knowingly supported the War Crimes in Sri Lanka.

Australian government under Ousted prime minister Tony Abbott supported the Killing of more than 40,000 Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka by the government forces in May 2009 and continued the support to SL at the UN by lying and  joining China, Russia and Pakistan saying that no War Crimes took place in Sri Lanka.

“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed”. – Adolf Hitler.

Commonwealth prime ministers, notably Britain’s David Cameron and Canada’s Stephen Harper, have fiercely condemned Sri Lanka’s reconciliation efforts and human rights abuses since the end of its civil war in 2009 but Mr Abbott said Sri Lanka had made significant and promising progress in 2013 to defend his support of killing Tamil Civilians.

Ousted prime minister Tony Abbott warned to ‘keep his head down’ or risk ‘trashing his own reputation’ which is already low.

  • Former Howard government minister made the comments about Abbott
  • Peter Reith said he has to keep his head down or risks trashing his legacy
  • Abbott wrote an essay defending his foreign policy, defence credentials
  • Reports say he also plans to do his own marginal seat tour before election
  • Minister Tanya Pilbersek said foreign minister needs to speak with Abbott

Sri-Lanka-army-clearedIn a 3,700 word essay published over the weekend in Quadrant, Mr Abbott praised his decision not to join the “human rights lobby against the tough but probably unavoidable actions taken to end one of the world’s most vicious civil wars”.

The United Nations has been pushing for an investigation into allegations that up to 40,000 ethnic Tamil civilians were killed by Sri Lankan government troops in the final months of fighting in the civil war, which ended in 2009.

Abbott wrote that he was sure former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa accused of War Crimes would have been pleased Australia did not join the chorus of international criticism of the Killing of More than 40000 Tamil Civilians by the Sri Lankan forces of President Rajapaksha.

untitledAbbott is accused of supporting the killing of more than 40,000 Tamil Civilians by Sri Lankan forces along with the support of China, Russia and Pakistan.

Acting opposition leader Tanya Plibersek was unimpressed with Mr Abbott’s analysis. ‘I think it would be a good thing for the foreign minister to have a few words to Mr Abbott,’ she told reporters in Sydney. One reason Australia is so well regarded internationally across history is because it is a responsible international citizen, ‘Part of that means standing up against human rights abuses,’ she said. Abbott has proved that Australia did not stand up against the Human rights abuses but supported War Crimes.
