President Maithiri expects to win more votes in Vanni?

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will contest 24 Local Government bodies in the Vanni Distinct, fielding 341 candidates, Minister Susil Premajayantha said yesterday. Addressing a press conference at SLFP Head Quarters, he added that the party expects to make significant gains in the district, which it had not previously attempted to do.

The current government had not done anything better than then the former President Mahinda who has promoted Sinhala Buddhist in the Tamil area, Maithiri-Ranil who promised to change the constitution to give equal rights to the minority has not done it for the last three years in power.

Mahinda Rajapaksha who promised to implement the 13+ to the constitution has not event implemented the current constitution in full.

Meanwhile, over 9,000 candidates who will contest the election from SLFP and United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) will gather at Sugathadasa Stadium tomorrow (29) where they will pledge that they will adhere to the SLFP manifesto.

Another meeting which will see leaders and representatives of 22 political parties that are contesting with the SLFP and the UPFA will meet the President today (28) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

Tamils only hope seems to be that they vote for TNA and show the world that Tamils are united but smaller Tamil parties are opposing the TNA and Tamil voters will answer on the 10th February 2018. Interestingly after killing thousands of Tamils Mahinda group hope to gain Tamil votes in the forthcoming local election.
