Power hungry rulers unconcerned about people – Anura Kumara

By Anuradha Herath

Leader of the Colombo District Team of the National People’s Power, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, says at the final rally in Colombo that Sri Lanka will face more calamities if Rajapaksas return to power.

He said:

The lives of the people of this country are not as valuable as the greed for power these rulers have. That is why they tried to hold an election amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. It was prevented due to the thoughtful decision made by the Election Commission. If not, there was a likelihood of a massive disaster occurring. We thank the Election Commission. When the date of the Election was being postponed, ministers and parliamentarians of the Government became thoroughly excited. They began attacking the Election Commission continuously. What they wanted to do was to hold the election in a hurry, before the people became aware of the actual nature of President Gotabaya.
