In the event that all intensive care units (ICU) reserved for Covid patients in Sri Lanka are overcrowded, the health sector is facing a severe crisis.
Accordingly, more ICU beds have to be reserved for newly found critically ill cases.
At present, 186 ICU beds have been reserved for those under positive diagnosis and only 85 beds remain for others. In the midst of the situation, part of the 85 beds have also to be used for Covid cases.
Due to the situation, those diagnosed for other diseases are also at risk, according to reports.
