A special meeting between Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa and former Sri Lanka Cricket captains and former officials of Cricket is due to be held tomorrow (20).
The former officials and the captains were invited to this meeting by the Sports Minister himself.
According to reports, the current officials of Sri Lanka Cricket will also take participation in the meeting. Thus, Test Captain Dimuth Karunaratne and senior members of the Test Team Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimanne have also been invited to the meeting.
The formation of the annual contract of the players under the guidance of the Technical Committee consisting of former players has led to a dispute between the current players and the administration, being driven to frustration amid the simultaneous removal of several senior players from limited-overs matches. In addition, Chandimal recently wrote a letter to the Committee and SLC requesting a discussion with the authorities about their future in the field of Cricket.
Due to the crisis, former all-rounder Thisara Perera resigned from International Cricket, and several others players, at present, are considering leaving, reports added.
