Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has instructed the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) to inform the Inspector General of Police (IGP) regarding the recent event at a Covid Vaccination Centre in Hikkaduwa.
The Health Minister in a statement said that several incidents have been reported at a number of vaccination centres across the country in recent days. A lot of information has been received in this regard, the Minister revealed.
Despite the great appreciation received from the international community regarding the vaccination program against Covid-19 in Sri Lanka, there is a suspicion whether the procedure is being sabotaged as part of a conspiracy to discredit the international community, Rambukwella said.
A video divulging the event at Hikkaduwa Vaccination Centre has recently surfaced on Social Media raising controversy, and the public began to allege that the authorities had left with the remaining doses of the vaccine ignoring the large crowd gathered in the scene.
