Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has granted permission for Wandindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket tournament 2021, in consultation with the Technical Advisory Committee.
Accordingly, the two Sri Lankan players will be joining the Sri Lanka squad on October 10 to play in the two warm-up games prior to the ICC T20 World Cup.
The ‘No Objection Certificate’ was issued for them to join the IPL teams, starting from 15 September.
The second half of the tournament, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be held from September 19 to October 15 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The two Sri Lankan players will be given the opportunity this time as many foreign players who had participated in the first half of the tournament will not be participating this time.
