It is reported that the Army has been given full power to administer the Pfizer vaccine in the country.
It is said that this decision has been taken due to several incidents reported in the Puttalam district last week where the American-made Pfizer vaccine was given to outsiders without any transparency.
Accordingly, from now on, the Pfizer vaccine will be given to the relevant persons under the leadership of the Army and the vaccine will not be given to anyone who does not qualify, according to Army Commander Shavendra Silva.
In the Puttalam District, cases have been reported of people living in outlying areas as well as children under the age of 18 being given the Pfizer vaccine with the intervention of the health sector itself.
