The 23rd phase of the ‘Janasuwaya’ program implemented as part of the ‘Vipakshayen Husmak’ initiative aimed at donating hospital equipment to save the lives of the people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and building a healthy country was launched under the patronage of Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa today (31).
Accordingly, a High-End ICU Ventilator machine worth Rs. 4,750,000.00 was donated to Dr. Amal Hemantha Jayatileke, Director of Matale District Hospital by the Opposition Leader.
The occasion was graced by Matale District MP Rohini Kaviratne, former Minister Ranjith Aluvihare, former Minister Vasantha Aluvihare, Dambulla Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Electoral Organiser Daya Nandasiri and Assistant Organiser Mangala Priyashantha.
The ‘Vipakshayen Husmak’ initiative, together with the ‘Janasuwaya’ program, is implemented at a joint effort by the SJB Parliamentary Group, organisers, members, foreign branches of the party and local and foreign donors, with the objective of relieving those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka.
Earlier, the SJB donated hospital equipment worth Rs. 64 million (Rs. 64,124,000) on 22 phases.
