President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued an extraordinary gazette declaring the distribution of consumer goods including paddy, rice and sugar an essential service.
The gazette declares the power to pronounce those hampering the conduction of essential services to be guilty and the dismissal of those lacking support in the conduction of essential services.
