Geetha Kumarasinghe, the Galle District Parliamentarian of the SLPP says that the development projects that she had proposed for the Benthara electorate, representing the government as the representative of the people of Benthara, have been cut.
She has stated this during a discussion held on a water issue in the Bentota area, explaining the government’s harassment of her. Minister Ramesh Pathirana and Minister of State Mohan de Silva also participated in the discussion.
Kumarasinghe has further stated that she is deeply disappointed due to certain actions taken by the government. She has said that although she came to power boasting about the Wiythmaga, it is not possible to understand whether it is the Wiythmaga or the ‘Kiyathmaga’ now.
Geetha Kumarasinghe has stated that she will resign if the problems regarding this drinking water project are not resolved and action is taken to provide drinking water to the people.
