Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is prepared to enrol fast bowler Lasith Malinga as a coach, according to a senior official of the SLC.
Despite the matter being discussed at the SLC, no discussions were held with Malinga so far. The SLC, therefore, wishes to discuss the matter with him in the future, reports added.
Malinga’s experience in the international arena and expertise in the field would be a great help to young fast bowlers to develop their skills, the senior official further told the media.
Malinga is yet to announce his farewell from International Cricket. The fast bowler, however, has not competed in an international or a domestic match since March 2020.
Malinga previously coached the Mumbai Indians at the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a brief period, pushing many foreign teams to queue themselves in obtaining his services.
Malinga who represented Sri Lanka in 340 international matches has taken 546 wickets.
