A series of health guidelines to be followed in reopening schools with less than 200 students has been provided to the Education Ministry, revealed Director General of Health Services Specialist Dr. Asela Gunawardena.
A decision to reopen schools, however, will be made by the Education Authorities, he added.
The set of guidelines has been issued following a request made by the Health Secretary to provide guidelines for opening schools.
The DGHS added that everyone should act responsibly from their end, minimise travel as much as possible and adopt health practices, in order to reopen schools.
Should these responsibilities be fulfilled, the curfew could be lifted on October 01, Dr. Gunawardena further noted.
