Opposition Leader urges government to disclose truth about data loss at NMRA

The deletion of data in the database of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), which plays a key role in protecting public health in Sri Lanka, amidst a cruicial time regarding healthcare would be a serious problem, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa noted raising a question to the Ruling Party under 27/2 in Parliament today (21).

The Opposition Leader pointed out that the public’s security has been put to a severe risk by closing up the case suggesting that data – consisting of about 1.1 million high-sensitive folders belonging to the NMRA – were deleted due to a mistake committed by one of the computer operators from the private company which was entrusted with the handling of the NMRA database.
