Jeevan Thiyagarajah, who serves as a member of the National Election Commission, has been nominated as the Governor of the Northern Province by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The letter nominating Mr. Thiyagarajah to the post has been issued by President’s Secretary P.B. Jayasundara.
The post can be accepted subject to resignation from his position in the Commission, the letter added.
