The vaccination of schoolchildren between 18 and 19 years would commence tomorrow (15) in all education zones in the Colombo District, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education L.M.D. Dharmasena told the media yesterday.
“We will start the vaccination drive in Homagama, Colombo, Jayewardenepura and Piliyandala education zones. Those who need to be vaccinated must produce the National Identity Card,” he said.
Dharmasena said that they would establish one centre to cover several schools and students could ask their principal as to where they should get vaccinated.
“So, children in schools with a limited number of students might have to go to elsewhere to get vaccinated. All the information will also be given on the websites of the Ministries of Health and Education,” he said.
