SLPP MP Jagath Kumara says that the provincial council election cannot be held at this time as the people are disappointed with the government.
“We all know that this is a time where people are frustrated and disappointed, so it is not possible to hold elections at this time. It could be January or February. At the same time, we need to do something to provide relief to the people. So it could take another seven or eight months. At that time I think the people will agree with many of the decisions taken by the government and so far. Then we can hold an election and win. However, it is not possible to hold elections at this moment without thinking like that.”
Jagath Kumara stated this addressing a media briefing held yesterday (19).
