A special meeting was held today (21) between the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akira Sugiyama and the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Colombo.
The Opposition Leader expressed his gratitude to the Government of Japan for its support to Corona Elimination Project as well as for various development activities where the Ambassador recalled the decades-long bilateral relations.
Leader of the Opposition said that Samagi Jana Balawegaya is a green party and “Green Project”, the Green Environment Conservation Program and the Project Leopard are being implemented by it and requested the Ambassador of Japan to provide necessary cooperation.
The Ambassador said that he would consider this request and would sponsor it.
