Gamini Sedara Senarath, Secretary to the Prime Minister, has stated that although he is related to one of the directors of the local agency that imported the disputed fertilizer, he has nothing to do with the company’s business and has not involved in or influenced the company’s business dealings.
He requested that if anyone has any relevant evidence or facts that he has involved or influenced on the deal, he should lodge a formal complaint with any investigating agency and if he is summoned for any further investigation, he would be willing to do so.
He recalls that during the last government of good governance, he was subjected to such false allegations by various agencies but could not prove anything in court during the last four years of that government. He said that he was also acquitted by the three-member Special High Court.
The Secretary to the Prime Minister Gamini Senarath has stated this in response to allegations leveled against him directly and indirectly by various parties regarding the importation of organic fertilizer.
