Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa donated hospital equipment worth Rs. 2,016,000.00 in the 33rd phase of the ‘Jana Suwaya’ project as part of the ‘Samagi Jana Balawegayen Husmak’ undertaken by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) to address the Sri Lankan communities oppressed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In commemoration of the late President J.R. Jayawardena, the Opposition Leader donated;
- 04 Infusion Pumps (105,000 x 4 = 420,000)
- 04 Syringe Pumps (104,000 x 4 = 416,000)
- 04 Multipara Monitors (295,000 x 4 = 1,180,000)
Urban Councilor Pradeep Jayawardena, the grandson of late President J.R. Jayawardena and Colombo East organiser of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Awissawella Chief Organiser of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Gayan Kodithuwakku, former Provincial Council Member Lenard Karunaratna and Gampaha District Organiser of Samagi Jana Balawegaya Dhanawardena Guruge were present in the occasion.
The ‘Samagi Jana Balawegayen Husmak’ previously known as ‘Vipakshayen Husmak’ is an initiative supported and funded by the efforts of the SJB Parliamentary Group, organisers, local and overseas members and donors with the aim of promoting and protecting the lives of Sri Lankans through the provision of life saving medical equipment to the government hospital sector.
The initiative previously donated hospital equipment worth Rs. Rs. 97,234,000.00 on 32 phases.
