Even though people have money, there are no goods to be purchased said Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Eran Wickramaratne.
This was stated at a media briefing held at the office of the Leader of the Opposition today (05).
The MP said that the queues to leave the country have increased more than the queues to buy goods and it seems that the confidence in the government has completely collapsed.
Even if people have money, there are no goods to buy. If you look at the gas queues around Sri Lanka you can see that. That is what has happened to the government. That is why the control prices are removed. Rising prices are one problem. There will be more crises if there are no goods at all. Thousands of people are in queues at passport offices to leave the country. This shows that the people’s trust in the government has completely collapsed. The young generation, in particular, thinks that they can build a better future if they go abroad.” he said.
